oh god i've been doing nothing but site redesigns since like 8:00 last night. well i did sleep from 2am to 11am but still. i woke right up and started working on mitsarts.org... @_@
so check out my new layouts:
http://lc-clark-art.com

http://mitsarts.org

i think lc-clark-art came out ok, it's got some examples of web design [good thing to send people] but i am SUPER DUPER proud of how the new mitsarts.org came out. i drew several things with the sole intention of using them for that site, downloaded new fonts, uploaded new images to the gallery/anthro sections, etc. it works best if you have a huge screen resolution, but its not impossible to navigate on a small screen. i think the biggest issue with it is the main bg image; it's a .png because it needed to be transparent, and i couldn't stand it being all gross and chonky, so it's kind of very large and interlaced :S but once it loads it looks good and it doesn't have to ever load again.

ANYWAY! GO LOOK! LOOK LOOK LOOK LOOK LOOK FSLJSKLF

ps. dude, mitsarts.org has over 60,000 views. when did that happen???

amy tiger is up on drunk duck now! CLICK. i updated the latest page today. i only did one page last month. that is LAME. i mean i was swamped with work and moving and whatever else, but still.
i wish i could have gotten it hosted on my OWN site, but every time i try to set up some mySQL or php script crap, it gets fucked up by godaddy or my own ignorance of what the fuck i'm doing and it doesn't work. :[ OH well. it gets more exposure on a hosted site anyway, so i guess it's good.

i REALLY wish i could get this sphynx comic story put together. it'll be drawn simpler so hopefully put together faster, but i wish i knew what to write! augh!

ummmmmmmm. still moving my stuff in. i love being able to shop for my own food. leftovers from other people's fridges is OK, but being able to make whatever i like whenever is.. nomnomnom.

yesterday was kind of boring. there's no cable or internet at the house, just a vhs/dvd player, and the only dvd my gramma owned [or didn't take with her] was some conspiracy theory about jfk 0_0

i applied to the community college nearby to go back to school in september and take some high-end web design flash/illustrator classes and get my web design certificate. but now ihave to go back to work. 15 minute breaks suck! D:{

MASSIVE tag crap-for-sale post!

please parooze, comment if you find something you like. prices are negotiable. the point of this is to get this stuff OUT of my room, so if you'd like me to knock off a couple bucks, say so. however, i'd still like to make a bit of a profit, as well as cover shipping prices. default shipping is $5, if it seems as if i could send it out for less or if it will need more, i will let you know.
if anything isn't bought, it'll be up on ebay/amazon by next weekish.

OK so, the way things look now is that i'll be moving in a couple weeks. i mean really moving, like with furniture and shit, not the old back-and-forth to dorm type moving i was doing for a while. anyway, i have a lot of crap [as usual] that i need to get rid of, and not all of it is worthless, so consider this a warning for some possible e-tagsale posts and ebay linkage.

BE WARNED!!

possible things to sell include:
-purple leopard pants
-video games
-lots of textbooks
-old furry artwork, if i feel like photographing all of it

time to get back to work now.

You see? this is the kind of stupid bullshit, the kind of mindless, soulless horror of a culture we've been brainwashed into. Getting shit from walmart at 5am is somehow more important than the life of an individual, or the wellbeing of others. What kind of mob mentality are we at, at all points in our lives? The ceaseless beating of the capatilist drum, "Buy. Shit. Buy. Shit. Buy. Shit." Consume consume consume as much as you possibly can at the cheapest you possibly can as often as you possibly can.
We keep consuming as if it fills a void inside us, totally convinced that if we get just that one more thing, that one more gadget or car or somewhat valuable object, we are somehow one step closer to being 'whole'. There is no wholeness in that direction, only more vapidity, as we forget those around us, as we multiply to the point where our neighbors are anonymous and a man crushed under a door at the whim of a mob somehow seems like a reasonable sacrifice for us and our dysfunctional, unhappy families. Even when we are aware what we are buying is made by kids in sweatshops on the other side of the planet, even when we are aware that our pointless cycle of buy-a-new-one-every-year adds more to the ecological garbage heap that'll be our planet in a few centuries, we still do it. Why?? Why the fuck did you go out today? How much did you really need that shit?
But, we don't see a way out. This is what we have been doing and it's what we've been taught to do, and it's much easier to buy and throw away than to look inside ourselves and find out what's really making us unhappy, or (god forbid) contemplate any other method of living.
If you so goddamn dearly want to part with your money, give to a charity. If you so dearly want to get up at 5am for any reason at all, volunteer instead.

Every year it seems like I could be filled more, happily, with the holiday spirit, and yet each year it seems like there's more and more reasons for me to be a fucking grinch. I have no other reason other than family and/or loved ones to celebrate the holiday of a religion whose symbols meaning's have been forgotten, a religion where the actual kind, helpful people who participate are swallowed underneath the loud, bigoted, consuming zealots. I have no reason to be part of a cultural phenomenon where if you don't buy something for everyone who you love, then you have somehow disproved you loved them in the first place.
There is something terribly off about a culture that causes some of its participants to want to reject it entirely. On the most basic level of human sociality, it is common culture which keeps people, families, clans and nations together; like food and shelter, we have to have a common culture and language in order to not feel (or be) absolutely alone. For me to spend my whole life rejecting the basic culture I was born into, there must be something terribly, terribly morally wrong with either it, or me. And seeing as I haven't yet shot up a college or shopping mall, I don't think it's me....

http://career-education.monster.com/bundle-web-development.html

Monster dot com, selling business/web development education bundles. what it -looks- like is what i'd be getting out of three or four courses towards web design certificate, except at the price of one class or less. 6 months or so of 1-hour each online classes for $250. scam? not a scam? hubba booba? i mean i'd rather learn this stuff for as cheap as i can, and if i can sit on my butt at home and do it instead of going to any more friggin' classes.... hmm.

also. i only got 3 replies to my christmas card entry! i refuse to believe that nobody wants free cards or whatnot. which is why this is public so that in case somebody.. forgets to sign in.. or something.. :| reply here if you want a card! disclaimer: again, won't be sending to everyone. if you've never commented or talked to me before, don't bother. but if we trade comments via lj or know each other fairly well, comment, dammit!
